From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kate Maki is a Canadian singer-songwriter.
Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Maki studied neuroscience and education at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and taught grade school in Ottawa for several years before deciding to pursue a full time musical career. She released her debut album, Confusion Unlimited, in 2003. The album's blend of folk rock and alternative country earned her favourable comparisons to Sarah Harmer, Kathleen Edwards and Lucinda Williams, and quickly sold out its entire initial run.
She released her second album, The Sun Will Find Us, in 2004.
