Katashina (片品村; -mura) is a village located in Tone District, Gunma, Japan.

As of 2003, the village has an estimated population of 5,627 and a density of 14.35 persons per km². The total area is 392.01 km².

Located approximately 40 minutes NE from the nearest rail station (Numata), Katashina is sleepy hamlet located in a moutainest settling accessed by car, taxi or local bus where hot springs, winter sports and local charm runs abundant.

Katashina is a village where a gentle breeze blows, swaying flowers back and forth and a refreshing and exhilarating spirit of youth dances. This is why Katashina, avillage of skiing and tourism, is coined as "Nature's Hometown." Katashina Village has many places of interest including "Oze", which is famous for its high marshy grassland and flowering skunk cabbage, "mizubasho" - queen of the alpine flora, "Marunuma" with its beautiful and mysterious lake surface and primeval forest of white birch and beech trees and "Hotaka", a highland ranch known for its beautiful azalea and lotus blooms.Along Rt. 120, known as "Japanese Romantische Strasse", is the origin of the so-called "Corn Highway". There are many open air shops selling roasted corn, not to mention other fresh local produce, and it is only here you can taste for yourself the original flavor of this heartwarming specialty that has been spread all over the country. A visit to Katashina would not be complete without a stop at one of the six individual hot springs or a stay at one of the many "ryokan", "minshuku" or fashionable pensions providing delicious meals and comfortable lodging for tourists.
