[edit] Trivia

The term Acadiana, used to describe the area of South Louisiana that is home to many Cajuns, was coined at this station due to a mistyped invoice which replaced Acadian with Acadiana. (The word actually had been created in the mid-1950s by a Crowley, Louisiana, newspaper that used it solely in reference to Acadia Parish, Louisiana; however, KATC independently coined "Acadiana" in the early 1960s, gave it a new, broader meaning, and popularized it throughout south Louisiana.)
