From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi Kaszeta: You are right. I hate to make enemies here. The only information I want pasted into the America West page is the one about the sponsorships with professional teams, because I understand that is an important part of the airline's history and should be kept.

Also, the spelling of the city of Nagoya, its Nagoya. Im not saying this to make you feel wrong about it, but because we want people to see Wikipedia as a serious, informative page when they come here for the first time.

I see you made this page August 13, 2004! That's my birthday!!

I have an America West Boeing 747 model that was given to me by airline management back in 1990. I live here in Phoenix, and I love AW. The only thing is that I think Sky Harbor should have more international airlines, at least for our planespotter's enjoyment, dont you agree?

Matter of factly you are more than welcome to read my user page and see my list of model airplanes.

Thanks for being respectful, and remember, never take the wars here seriously, just enjoy the experience at wikipedia, as you are doing so far!

God bless you!

Sincerely yours, "Antonio Puerto Rican in the desert Martin"

Hi Kaszeta! Where are you from?

I didnt work at AW, although I wish I did! When I got the AW plane model I had just arrived from Puerto Rico. I was 15 and already a frustrated pilot because of my Diabetes. My family communicated with AW and management made sure I had my plastic 747 model along with a t shirt and a few other small goodies. It was one of the happiest days of my life.

That pretty much started my desktop collecting hobby.

Im thinking of buying a Southwest Airlines model in the future, maybe a Northwest later. I prefer to collect by airline rather than by model.

Im concentrating on models of airlines gone by now. Im going to buy myself a Western Airlines model as a late birthday present tomorrow.

As far as America West, the page looks excellent now. I began the page with some basic information (including the professional teams); it was a stub then, but gradually more people put more info.

Thanks for everything and God bless you!

Sincerely yours, "Antonio Higher than the clouds Martin"

PS: How was Nagoya?

[edit] Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

[edit] Bodaciously excellent images for Blue Plate Special!

Thanks!

I have photoshopped them just a bit to make out the wording on the sign a little more readable, and to make the plate divisions more visible... hope you don't mind. Dpbsmith (talk) 21:56, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I don't mind at all, and the results look better than the 10 seconds I spent photoshopping it. Thanks. Next time I'll actually order the Blue plate special so we can have a picture of the plate with actual food on it(I was craving a burger this time, not the "Ultimate Panfries"). -- Kaszeta 03:23, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Perforate

Which dictionary are you using? According to dictionary.com, the only adjective is perforate. This is why the antonym of this adjective is imperforate and never imperforated. I'm not talking about American vs British usage. --brian0918 17:05, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Umm, according to Dictionary.com[1], "perforated" is perfectly acceptable. -- Kaszeta 17:12, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for marking dicdefs for transwiki. For future reference, please use the template Move to Wiktionary rather than linking to the category. Otherwise the program won't pick it up. I've gone through and changed all of yours from before. --Dmcdevit 02:29, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Ultimate frisbee links...

I think we do need a "league" or "local" link list, or page. I mentioned this on Talk but didn't get any response. I don't think it's appropriate for the main article. Wikibofh 23:21, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The filling in the sandwich

ndash->mdash (the latter is punctuation, the former is not).

Hmm. It would be interesting to know what, then, you call the en-dash if it is not a punctuation mark. I am perfectly aware that the use of unspaced em-dashes is US (and was 19th-century British) punctuation style. That fact does not, however, invalidate the present-day practice – elsewhere in the world – of delimiting parentheses with space en-dash space. -- Picapica 21:59, 3 May 2005 (UTC)\

Actually, you do have a point. If an article has nothing but space-endash-space as punctuation (or space-emdash-space even), I tend to leave well enough alone. But if it has space-hyphen-space or hyphen-hyphen, I correct it, as there is clearly a better alternative. And usually I change hyphen in ranges if I come across them accordingly as well. And if an article has a smattering of different styles (which was what sandwich had), I change them all to a single style (usually emdashes without spaces). -- Kaszeta 23:53, 3 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:UdvarHazyCenter.jpg

Dear Kaszeta, you uploaded the UdvarHazyCenter-picture. I'm actually looking for a picture of the Boeing 307. I know that one 307 is preserved in the Udvar Hazy Center. Did you took a picture of the 307 by chance during your visit at the center? Best regards from germany -- Stahlkocher 09:54, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

Dear Kaszeta, thank you so much for this picture. I uploaded the picture into the commons, so i can use it in ther german wikipedia too. Best regards, -- Stahlkocher 17:28, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

Thanks. I've emailed a couple of people to see if they have an image they're willing to release under the GFDL. (Alas, despite 100s of images of my own from Amsterdam, I apparently never took a photo of a FEBO) -- Kaszeta 14:23, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Don Saklad

Sorry. Never heard of him, my gut feeling is that he is not notable and, in particular, not as notable as Jessamyn West, but out of a) courtesy to you and b) a reluctance to bother researching the issue, I'm just going to stay out of this one. But thanks for the heads-up anyway. Dpbsmith (talk) 14:32, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Forced Busing

Hi Rich/Kaszeta, I saw that you edited the forced busing article after I overhauled it. I was wondering if I could get your opinion on how the article looks now and thoughts on improving it further. "Criticism" is a bad first section, at least in name, maybe the first section should talk about the court rulings? Also, did "forced busing" go by any other names? In Cleveland it was just called "busing". Thank you for your thoughts. DirectorStratton 22:46, July 25, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Taylor number

Kaszeta,

I edited your entry for Taylor number b/c the definition you use seems not to be very general. I am guessing it is for Couette flow between two concentric rotating spheres? Anyway, Drazin & Reid as well as Chandrasekhar discuss various definitions, but the most general seems to be the formula that I put in there. Contact me if you have any comments/concerns. Thanks, Petwil 23:44, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Flying Buffalo

Please see the policy Wikipedia:No original research specifically against this. Thank you for your note. --Perfecto 14:45, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

I read this policy different (I'm not doing original research, I'm quoting the history a company is publishing on their own web site). But that's not an issue to argue here, and I may indeed be wrong. I'll start a topic on this over on WP:RS. -- Kaszeta 16:06, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Beer Categories

It has been suggested by User:BrianSmithson that the Beer and brewery categories should be renamed. The proposal has been supported by User:Syrthiss, and supported and expanded by myself. The notion is that the regional categories should follow the format of "Beer and breweries in Africa" /Europe/Asia/North America/South America/Oceania. "Brewers and breweries" could also be renamed "Beer and breweries by region". And all the countries should also be renamed (and merged if needed) as, for example, "Beer and breweries of Germany", "Beer and breweries of Britain", "Beer and breweries of Poland". The word in each case would be beer rather than beers to allow for general articles on beer culture in each region as well as individual beers.

[edit] Get involved in social nudity naming convention debates!

Hi, I'd like to invite you to get involved in establishing consensus in discussions concerning naming conventions for social nudity topics.

Please join in this community discussion regarding the name of Portal:Clothes free.

Participate here: Portal_talk:Clothes_free#Votes

Please also join in the discussion about what to name an article dealing with social nudity. I believe the the latter term is a better term to use than naturism or nudism as it is more WP:NPOV and is in use currently. Formerly the article was titled Clothes free movement.

I have created Fluid and the relevant categories. Can you come up with an image to use and can we start tagging articles. [edit] A request for assistance

Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Go onto the Earhart discussion page and register your vote/comments...and a Happy New Year to you as well. Bzuk 02:50 3 January 2007 (UTC).
