Kastellet is a building at Kastellholmen in Norrmalm in Stockholm, Sweden.

The first fortification was built in 1667 and was designed by Erik Dahlbergh. It exploded in June 1845 so a new one was built between 1846 and 1848, the architect was Fredrik Blom. It consists of a round tower with red brick walls and a 20 meter high stair tower. On the top of it flies the three tongued naval flag of Sweden, indicating that the country is at peace. On one May 17 some Norwegian expats raised the Norwegian flag in the tower. Normally that would be taken as a declaration of war, but a diplomatic crisis was avoided.
