She graduated from Kinnaird College Lahore, after which she got her LLB from Punjab University in 1996. She was awarded the degree of LLM from the London School of Economics in 1999. During that period she was also the chief organizer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in UK. She has also claimed to be the President of the LSE Students Union between 1998 and 1999[1]. Prior to her election, she was not very well known in political circles and it is said that she was introduced to the present top brass of the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) by Mian Waheed-ud-Din, a former member of national assembly from lahore with whom she reportedly had an affair. Relationships are currently acrimonious between both parties and on the 10th of February 2006, Kashmala lodged a police complaint against him for allegedly entering her house by force while being armed, and for threatening her. The bone of contention is reported to be a luxury SUV Pajero that was given to Kashmala as a gift, but was damanded back after Kashmala reportedly moved away from Waheed. She was then seen with Imran Khan, the former cricketer turned politician and also joined his political party for a year before their relationship crumbled. She then turned her attentions towards Humayun Akhter Khan, the present Minister for Commerce of Pakistan. [3] and joined the PML-Q, Akhter Khan's party. The Pakistani newspaper Khabrain also reported in February that Kashmala was present with the Pakistani delegation at the WTO Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong and was observed making movies with a hand held camera, an act which lead to protests from the accredited media prescent. (Humayun Akhter Khan was leading the Pakistani Delegation at the Conference and they stayed together throughout the trip). While her personal life has made her the darling of the Urdu-Media, Kashmala has also gained the trust of the PML-Q leaders for her unflinching support to the regime of Pervez Musharaff. She remains Musharaff's biggest supporter, on tv talk shows and on the floor of the National Assembly.
