Talk:Karbala provincial headquarters raid
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The latest theory is that there was Iranian involvement in the attack. CNN
- Incorporated into article introduction by User:Attila226. I added further information in the "Aftermath" section. Thanks, Black Falcon 21:57, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Fatality details is fine. Thanks, Joshdboz 21:54, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing out to me that "Trivia" was an inappropriate title for a section mentioning 25 deaths. A rather obvious oversight on my part. Black Falcon 02:15, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Iranian involvement is only a claim with no clear evidence. It is discussed in the middle of the page... fine.. the rest is pov. Sangak 13:13, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Reverse merger from "Karbala raid"
I have renamed the page to the longer version (Karbala provincial headquarters raid) as "Karbala raid" could refer to any number of incidents, including the arrest of the 4 suspected militants on January 22. As I could not simply move the page, I reverted your merge on the Karbala provincial headquarters raid article and then merged Karbala Raid into that (also, some of the references were lost during the merge--I have restored them). The "Karbala raid" article did indeed have more info on the raid, and the merge was certainly warranted, but I think the title "Karbala raid" is just too vague. I agree on the title of the article. Top Gun
The information you have provided on the raid is far better than the one this article initially contained. Could you give the source for it (especially, the discrepancy between the 9-12 militants vs. 30 militants figure--I heard the 30 figure noted in a CNN video, but can't seem to find it now)? Thank you, Black Falcon 21:15, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. I will be unavailable to cleanup the "Raid" section after the merge for a few hours as I have to go now (it could be done if the first (old) paragraph is deleted and the rest is sourced)), but if any cleanup remains by then, I will get to it tonight. Thanks again, Black Falcon 21:15, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
