Karukh

The town of Karukh is the center of Karukh District inHerat Province,Afghanistan.The population is more than 18 800 people.The town is located on 34.49° N 62.59° E at 1320 m altitude,50 km North East to Herat.
Karukh’s busy bazaar is continuously mentioned in travelogues down through the centuries.The shrine of Hazrat Alla Berdi, Sufi ul-Islam, stands there {see the photo here).
