Kartik (Bangla: কার্ত্তিক Karttik or কার্তিক Kartik), is the seventh month of the Bangla Calendar used in Bangladesh and parts of India. It overlaps October and November of the Gregorian calendar.
Kartik is also the first month in the Nepali calendar Bikram Sambat.
The name of the month is derived from the name of the star Krittika.
