Kartarpur

Kartarpur is the name of two historical towns in the state of Punjab (India). Both are important towns in Sikh history and are pilgrimage centres. These include:
- Kartarpur (Gurdaspur district), is near the historical town of Dera Baba Nanak and on the banks of the Ravi river. Located in the Majha region of the state, it was founded by the first Sikh Guru and the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev.
- Kartarpur (Jalandhar district), is near the city of Jalandhar and is located in the Doaba region of the state. It was founded by the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev.
