Kars, Ontario

Kars is a small town on the Rideau River within the rural section of the city of Ottawa, Ontario. Prior to amalgamation in 2000 it was part of Rideau Township. The community is located just south of Manotick, Ontario and to the west of the town of Osgoode, Ontario. Schools include Kars Public School and Rideau Valley Middle School. The Kars Fair is held annually in July. Previously named Wellington, the town was renamed after the Turkish city of Kars in early 20th century.
