Karriem Riggins

Karriem Riggins (born August 25, 1975) is a jazz drummer and a former member of the Ray Brown Trio. He currently appears in the Mulgrew Miller trio, and can be heard on two records with them.

Riggins was born in Detroit, Michigan.He studied music at Southfield High School and soon after joined the band of jazz singer Betty Carter when her drummer Greg Hutchinson left. After Carter's death in 1998, Riggins joined the Ray Brown Trio.

Away from jazz, Riggins has done production work for hip hop artists including Slum Village, Common, Jay Dee, The Roots, Phat Kat and Consequence.
