Karlos Arguiñano

Karlos Arguiñano Urkiola (born 6 September 1948 in Beasain, Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, Spain) is a Chef and TV Presenter.

His devotion to cuisine started when he was a child and helped at home due to the fact that he was the eldest of four brothers and had a disabled mother.

Before starting cooking-related formation, he worked for a train factory at Beasain. When he was 17 years old, he decided to take part in a course at the Escuela de Hostelería del Hotel Euromar where he was taught during three years the main principles of cooking by Luis Irizar. There he met some people which have obtained great success in the world of cuisine, such as Pedro Subijana and Ramón Roteta.

Arguiñano's has had a hotel-restaurant in Zarautz since 1978, which has three Michelin Guide stars.
