Karl Ulrich Schnabel

Karl Ulrich Schnabel (born August 6, 1909 in Berlin – died August 27, 2001 in Danbury, Connecticut) was a German classical pianist.

Karl was the son of Artur Schnabel. He was pupil of Leonid Kreutzer and Paul Juon at the Berlin Academy of Music (Berliner Hochschule für Musik). After the Schnabel family emigrated to England and the United States in 1933, he started work as teacher at the Dalcroze school in New York. During World War II he led a laboratory for electronic music. He was an internationally renowned teacher of the piano.

His students include Richard Goode, Murray Perahia, Peter Serkin, Peter D. Pecere, and many others.

Karl Schnabel taught numerous master classes at Mills College in Oakland, California.
