Karl Francis (born 1943) is a Welsh film and television director, producer and screenwriter, associated with left-wing political causes.

Francis was born in Bedwas. His work shows the influence of Ken Loach, and has included output in both the English and Welsh languages. Several of his films have been based on work by Dylan Thomas.
