Karim El Mejjati

Karim El Mejjati (1967-2005) was an al-Qaeda operative who became wanted in several countries before he was killed (with 14 others) in Ar Rass, Saudi Arabia in April of 2005.[1][2] El-Mejjati was one of two new additions to the United States FBI Seeking Information - War on Terrorism list, introduced by October 8, 2003.[3] He was being sought for questioning in connection with possible threats against the United States. The FBI statement said that he had a passport which was issued in France, and his last known entry into the United States occurred between 1997 and 1999. His aliases included Bashir Al-Maghribi and Abu Ilyas.[4] He was removed from the FBI list before 2006. He was also wanted in Saudi Arabia (see al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula) and in Spain.[2]
Al-Mejjati was born 30 October 1967 in Morocco. According to the Saudis his real name was Abdul-Karim al-Mejjati (Arabic: عبد الكريم المجاطي ).
