Kardamyla is a village of Chios which is located on the coast of a small bay. The homes, shops and 'plateia' of the village are on one side of the bay facing Agios Markos and cliffs which are allocated on the opposite side of the bay. On clear days, the island of Mytiline (Lesvos)can be seen in the distance beyond the bay enclosure. With a short boat-ride, one could visit the neighbouring island of Egnousses. Both Egnousses and Kardamyla are known as the home villages of Greek ship-owners.

Sites to be seen in this small village of Chios are :

"The V": This is a large white V painted on the cliffs facing the village. Origins and reason of existence are ambiguous. However, Kardamylitans are ruthlessly proud of it and many take on the challenge of cliff-climbing to it every year.

Spiles : A relatively unknown hotel located in Ano Kardamyla. The hotel is built into the rocky surface of the mountain and camoflages well into its surroundings.

Stohos : Rated as the number one club/bar/disco in the northern hemisphere. It is the hot-spot for many tourists visiting the island, and claims the nightlife of 73% of all youth of Chios. Billiards, a full bar and dancers are featured.

Plori  : This cafe/bar is known for its excellent, yet perpetually exhausted chocolate souffle. If you do not manage to order the souffle in time (prior to 8:30am) it is still worth sitting and enjoying the view.
