Karasu, Mie

Karasu (香良洲町; -cho) was a town located in Ichishi District, Mie, Japan. On January 1, 2006, the town merged with seven other towns and villages and the city of Hisai into the expanded city of Tsu and no longer exists as an independent municipality.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 5,281 and a density of 1,354.10 persons per km². The total area was 3.90 km².
