Talk:Kankakee River
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I am currently working on research about the dredging of the Kankakee River in Indiana and once it is published, I plan on adding information either to this article, or linking this article to a history of the dredging. I am unsure, however, if it would be best incorporated into the history section, or if it will need its own article. Please advice me, as right now the history of the dredging and chanelization is not very informative and I would like let people know about how the 'Great Marsh' of the Middle-west became farmland. - What I've done in situations like this is to start adding material to an existing article (e.g. Kankakee River) and then eventually, when that added material starts to overwhelm the rest of the article, break it out into its own article.
- On the other hand, if you have a lot of material already in article form, just start your a new article, but create plenty of links to that new article in related existing articles (e.g. Kankakee River, LaPorte County, Indiana etc. Hope this helps, MrHarman 03:58, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
