Kangaroo Ground is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the Shire of Nillumbik.
It is the site of the Australian campus of SIL International and the Australian headquarters of Wycliffe Bible Translators. Kangaroo Ground also contains the Kangaroo Ground Primary School, a tennis club, a general store, post office, a pony club, a fire station and Wellers Restaurant. Its post office is reputed to be the only one in Australia which is also a winery. Kangaroo Ground is sited within a Green Belt.
The Kangaroo Ground memorial tower is one of the highest places in Melbourne. Originally built as a World War 1 memorial, it is presently used to monitor bushfires during the bushfire season. The grounds around the tower feature a pine sapling planted on November 11, 2005; it was taken from the original Lone Pine growing on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey.
