Kanari Street

Kanari Street (Greek: Odos Kanari), is Patras' major street running one way westbound entirely from near Zaimi to Trion Navarchon Streets.Its total length is approximately 1.5 km. The street contains one lanes with two parking spaces.

Residential buildings with neo-classical and modern architectures covers the southern, the northern and almost the entire eastern portions of the street as well as residential buildings covers the northern, the central and southern parts, shops as well as stores and other services are sporadically in the street.

The avenue was paved in the late-19th century and featured classical and neo-classical buildings. It features the only entrance to the port, after World War II and the Greek Civil War, the road was finally paved in the 1950s, several buildings were reconstructed and the street became one way northbound. Taller buildings were added as well as traffic lights, the northern part added bulidings later.
