Kamleshwar

Kamleshwar (कमलेश्वर) (full name Kamleshwar Prasad Saxena) (January 6, 1932 - January 27, 2007), a prominent Hindi writer of the 20th century, was born in the Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh state, India.

Kamleshwar became famous for his short stories, and some other works, which depicted the contemporary life in a vivid style of presentation.

He held important positions including "Additional Director" of Doordarshan, India's national television channel. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2005.

He died, aged 75, on January 27, 2007 of a heart attack after being in poor health for several years.

He had written stories in TV serials like Darpan, Ek Kahani on doordarshan. He had written stories in movies like Aandhi, Mausam etc.
