Kami-Amakusa (上天草市; -shi) is a city located in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.

It was founded on March 31, 2004, by merging the three cities Himedo, Matsushima and Ryugatake.

As of 2005, the city has an estimated population of 35,314 and a density of 280 persons per km². The total area is 126.06 km².
