Kamala Lopez-Dawson

Kamala Lopez-Dawson is an actress who has starred in such well known movies as Born in East L.A., Deep Cover and The Burning Season (co-staring the late Raúl Juliá) in addition to dozens of other English and Spanish-language films and television shows.
A student of Sanford Meisner and Jerzy Grotowski, Lopez-Dawson studied theatre at Yale University from which she graduated with degrees in Philosophy and Theatre Studies. She is Executive Director of the Yale In Hollywood annual film festival.
In late 2006 she began co-hosting Fat free film, a weekly podcast that interviews industry insiders about movie making. She is also directing several projects, including a film adaptation of Nevada Shakespeare Company's A Single Woman.
