[edit] Listen defaults
Regarding [1], could you add an optional file size parameter to these templates as mentioned in Template_talk:Listen#File_size? — Omegatron 13:47, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- Can you make it look like this with a filesize parameter included:
- Accordion chords (file info) — play in browser (beta)
- Chords being played on an accordion — 145 KB
- Problems listening to the file? See media help.
- or maybe this:
- Accordion chords (file info) — play in browser (beta)
- Chords being played on an accordion (145 KB)
- Problems listening to the file? See media help.
- and this without?:
- Accordion chords (file info) — play in browser (beta)
- Chords being played on an accordion
- Problems listening to the file? See media help.

[edit] Wikipedia talk:Music samples
The discussion in Wikipedia talk:Music samples seems to have stopped suddenly. What happened? I was happy with the improvements that we were making in order to create this guideline. I wish we could restart the discussion. Thank you. CG 17:58, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, I see you've responded to the straw poll at Wikipedia_talk:Music_samples. Since your
vote, there has been some further discussion here, and I've suggested a slight amendment to the proposed guideline. I'd really appreciate your feedback on the subject. Thanks! --Wine Guy Talk 20:06, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Backslashes
You wrote at User talk:66.79.163.133 "There is no need to add slashes before every quotation mark". This is in fact a symptom of a broken open proxy (that IP was in fact blocked a few days ago as an open proxy). If you find any other edit adding backslashes before open quotes in the future, please tell the admins at WP:AN/I so it can be blocked. --cesarb 21:04, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Music samples is now a guideline
Wikipedia:Music samples is now a guideline. Thank you for your active participation in the discussion. The guideline will always be open for new proposals and amendments. As for now I invite you to join to the discussion in Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion#Proposal for Music Samples to adopt a new samples-related CSD criterion. CG 15:31, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for feedback
Kaldari, thanks for your note. The page on me from Contemporary Authors is at this link: http://www.the-wood-family.org/Tom/ContempAuth_listing_ETW.pdf. It's not entirely up to date, and my Marquis Who's Who listing is even less so (and I can't access it now anyway), but perhaps this much will be a start. I'm probably putting too much energy into something that's no more than a matter of vanity, but if there's going to be something on me, I may as well point folks toward reputable sources. After all, I do count John Seigenthaler as a mentor and friend.... --Tom Wood 19:24, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Palmersville, Tennessee
I just got your message regarding Palmersville, Tennessee. Thank you for pointing out the criteria for inclusion on List of cities and towns in Tennessee. Also, I was wondering if you read the comments regarding Palmersville on both Talk:Palmersville, Tennessee and Talk:List of cities and towns in Tennessee. --TommyBoy 15:11, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Nashville flag.png. However, the copyright tag you've used is deprecated or obsolete, and should not be used. This could be because the tag is inaccurate or misleading, or because it does not adequately specify the copyright status of the image. [edit] Copyright Issue
Hey... I was looking for an admin that was online (and you appear to be one). I don't know if a possible copyright violation actually has to remain on WP:CP for seven days, but Capital Area Food Bank is a clear copyright violation, and I already have created a new article without those problems (located at Talk:Capital Area Food Bank/Temp). Therefore, I'm wondering if you could delete the current article so I (or you) can move the temporary article in its place. Thanks in advance. -- tariqabjotu (joturner) 21:18, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks again. -- tariqabjotu (joturner) 21:23, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Krautrock
Hi, I noticed in its history you've been contributing a lot to the krautrock article. You might want to keep a close eye to it, as some user who doesn't seem to have the faintest idea what it's about now even proposes to just merge it in electronic music. I don't know what he's up to, but it's getting annoying. Anyway, just letting you know to keep on eye on the article, so its quality doesn't deteriorate ;-) --LimoWreck 18:28, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mary Wollstonecraft
Hi Kaldari, thanks for your note about the above. I don't know whether the copyright issue was ever sorted out completely. I don't entirely trust the version that's on the page. It wasn't written by a regular editor, none of the references have been checked, and it does seem a bit POV. However, to check it all would involve a lot of work. I've been tempted to reduce it back to a stub, but haven't because that would be a lot of material to remove, so I'm not quite sure how to proceed with it. [edit] Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Biography WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of biographies.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure tips outlines some things to include.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every biography article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! plange 14:43, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] rehashing
I'm confused-- it's okay by me if you take out old debate, but you didn't remove all of it-- still has weeks old debate on all those people, you only took out the portion I added after seeing that Calcagus had only inserted part of the debate plange 00:52, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tennessee Marriage Protection Amendment
I have corrected your addition to the Tennessee Marriage Protection Amendment article. The Rasmussen poll says nothing about whether or not Tennesseans support the amendment. The poll states that 80% of Tennesseans beleive marriage should be limited to a man and a woman (which it already is in Tennessee). That doesn't necessarily mean they support amending the constitution to say that. Please be careful about stating poll results accurately, especially as elections approach. Thanks! Kaldari 23:57, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- My apologies, and thank you for correcting my entry. Yes, that is an extremely important distinction and I should have been more careful. Thank you! --Zantastik talk 00:00, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Final Fantasy VII FAC
Hi, Kaldari. The changes you made are okay, I guess. I just want one line you removed to remain in (more info on the FAC page). I also trimmed another line that I felt should be dropped in light of the ones you had taken out. Please let me know if your changes and mine are enough to ease your concerns. [edit] John Adams (Army)
I am in the process of adding all the people who have articles in the book cited (Who Was Who in America, Historical Volume, 1607-1896, published 1963), to the lists of residents of the town in which they were born. This fellow has his own entry in the book, indicating his notability. Whether a separate article on him will ever be added is another matter. However, given the huge number of "John Adams"es out there, I differentiated them all on the disambiguation page to prevent confusion. His most notable accomplishement was being a brigadier general in the Confederate Army. I imagine that there are additional sources as well. As stated, however, I will probably not be making the article myself, at least anytime in the near future. I hope that answers your question. Badbilltucker 18:28, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- I have myself been involved in that argument regarding these lists already. As I stated before, the only reason that one was created with a link was to prevent someone from incorrectly linking it to the page of the 2nd President. Earlier today I had to correct one such red-link myself which indicated he also served as a contemporaneous Congressman from New York. The majority of them are simply being put in as names, unless they are already listed as red-links elsewhere, or, like in this case, to prevent confusion. By the way, one of the suggestions made in a recent request for comment I made on such lists was to include all individuals who qualify for articles on these residents lists, whether they already have articles or not. That is the reason I am adding all these names to the lists, including those who don't have pages yet. The specific reason I have for adding to these lists in the first place is that the categories are generally becoming completely unmanagable and probably actually serve as a hindrance to finding someone, not a help, particularly when someone sees some 500 or so names in the category. I thought, and still do think, that having them all listed on a single page, with a minimum of biographical detail of who, what, when, where, and why, might make the categories more useful. So, if the new red-link pages are deleted, that's not really a problem, at least in my eyes. Badbilltucker 19:00, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please revert your change to Template:Cite journal
Hello. You recently made a change to Template:Cite journal. The template was actually correct as it was, or at least it was consistent with the instructions on its' talk page - the date wikilinks, and obeys date preferences, fine when you put the date in the form 2006-08-31. By removing the brackets, you broke this functionality. Please revert your change. If you want to change the standard way of using the accessdate parameter, please discuss that on the talk page first (and get a bot on standby to convert the existing usage on article pages). Thanks. [edit] Sidebar redesign final vote!
It's that special, special time! No, grandma's not coming over. No, not time to clean out the fridge. It's sidebar redesign voting time! Yes, the community has narrowed it down to 3 different options, and a vote for the same old original sidebar is a choice one could vote for as well. Voting for multiple options is allowed, and discussion on the whole shebang is right there on the vote page itself.
You're probably getting this message because the sidebar fairy (JoeSmack for now) noticed you commented on the project at some time over on at Wikipedia talk:Village pump (proposals)/Sidebar redesign. Lovely. JoeSmack Talk 06:27, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Luther and Antisemitism
I am satisfied that the original paragraph was restored. I do not think that it is Wikipedia's place to characterize someone's writings as "virulently antisemitic". It can be stated that Dr. Paul Johnson or William Shirer stated them to be so, but to simply state it as it was stated is POV. I appreciate it that you and Slim Virgin made the change, thank you.--Drboisclair 19:37, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 3RR
Kaldari, you've violated 3RR on Martin Luther, as your first edit today was a revert. I have no intention of reporting this, but please review the policy for future reference: any undoing of another editor's work counts as a revert. It would be better for you to argue your case on the talk page. SlimVirgin (talk) 21:20, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Slim, sorry about the reverts. I guess I'm getting a bit frustrated here. I'm not going to edit the article any more today. I am however intersted in improving the intro and I definitely feel like my suggestions are not being seriously considered. Kaldari 21:25, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- No worries. I think we're all frustrated. One of the backdrops to this is that we had a very aggressive editor on the page for a few months who was deeply insulting, and who responded to edits he didn't like by vandalizing user pages and other articles written by the editors he was in conflict with. He was banned eventually, but then we went through a period of him using anon IPs to cause trouble too. It means that people are even more fed up than usual on that page. Perhaps we can talk about your ideas again in a couple of days time. SlimVirgin (talk) 21:30, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Martin Luther
Certain editors have claimed, without evidence, that everyone opposing them was "Jewish". Just because someone makes this claim does not make it a "fact", much less relevant, and it would behoove you to avoid repeating distateful claims like this. Jayjg (talk) 01:53, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Kaldari, Thanks for your contributions to Project Congress articles Tennessee's 5th congressional district and United States House elections, 2004.
