[edit] License tagging for Image:JasmineSimhalan.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:JasmineSimhalan.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:08, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jasmine Simhalan

Please do not remove maintenance notices from pages, as you did to Jasmine Simhalan, unless the required changes have been made. If you are uncertain whether the page requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the page's talk page before removing the notice from the page. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of a page. Thank you. Valrith 22:36, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] help with the edit

appreciate all the feedback and links which can be added.

[edit] Hi

I noticed your edits to Jasmine Simhalan and proceeded to clean up the article. If you need any help in Wikipedia (adding names to categories etc.) at all then feel free to contact me. Just click on my talk page and leave me a message. I'm also interested in Indian martial arts. If you could name some other prominent Indian martial artists then I could help create their articles depending upon their notability. Cheers and happy editing! [edit] Simhalan madhava panicker

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Simhalan madhava panicker, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. I have moved the above to Simhalan Madhava Panicker and changed Simhalan madhavapanicker to a redirect. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 21:31, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Jasmine-kalaripayatt-silambam.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Jasmine-kalaripayatt-silambam.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Chandralekha copyvio

As the creator of the article, you should not remove the template. Place {{hangon}} at the top of the page, and then state your reasons on the talk page for why it is not a copyright violation. The best way to keep the page is to rewrite it from scratch without taking material from elsewhere. Technically, procedure is to blank the page and place {{copyvio|http://www.culturebase.net/artist.php?464}} on it, but this way gives you a bit more leeway on working on the article to meet wiki policy. - WeniWidiWiki 17:49, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

I have deleted the article as it's a copyright violation. Please read Wikipedia:Copyrights and don't post anymore that violate someones copyright. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 21:31, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
No I can't restore the article as it's a direct copyright violation. Return to the site you copied it from and write it in your own words. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 22:27, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Articles and images

If you don't show that permission has been given then you can't just copy from another website even if it is your friends. Please see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission and Wikipedia:Example requests for permission. IF the images are from an open source then the licence should say that and not be tagged as created by you. Doing that is not ethical or honest. You will also need to provide a link to the site that you got them from so everybody can see that. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 22:25, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding edits made to Jasmine Simhalan

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Kalaripayatt! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule \bvids\.myspace\.com\b, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Shadowbot 13:17, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Please stop adding inappropriate links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and will be removed. Thanks. Shadowbot 13:19, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your pics

Hi there, stop uploading deleted pics again and again if you cannot provide proper information about the source. If you created those pics(particularly the animation one) embellish the licensing info with all pertinent details. Or I will be reporting you to the admins and you may get banned. Stop advertising yourself and your dad here. This is wikipedia not a billboard. Sarvagnya 04:32, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] No personal attacks

Please stop. If you continue to make personal attacks on other people, you will be blocked for disruption. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Thank you. Sarvagnya 02:35, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Hi there - I have noticed in your image upload log that many of the images you have contributed to Wikipedia originate from the site www.mediamilieu.co.uk - Now, the concern is that the images have been tagged as public domain, but is contrary to the terms of license indicated here: http://www.mediamilieu.co.uk/terms.html - specifically, 2. This site, its contents (including, but not limited to, any images, pictures, text and soudns) and any part thereof are the copyright of MEDIAMILIEU. Per the instructions on Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission the office ("OTRS team") needs to tag these contributions before they can remain on Wikipedia. In order for them to do this, some sort of verification must take place. There are instructions for how to do this on that page. Now, some images have existed on Wikipedia since at least February 9th, so it would be much appreciated if you could resolve this issue quickly. Thanks. --HappyCamper 03:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
