Kallidaikurichi

Kallidaikurichi is a small village in the banks of the river Thamirabarani located in Tirunelveli district southern Tamil Nadu. The nearest major city is Tirunelveli, which is the headquarters of the Tirunelveli district. Papanasam dam and Kutralam falls are within a 30-mile radius from this place. Farming is the main occupation of the people in the village.
The village has several cottage industries that produce appalams which are mostly exported. Most of the women folks in the village work in these cottage industries, thus providing an additional source of income to this predominantly agrarian society. The village is particularly well known for its temples. Most important of these temples is Adhivaraha perumal temple located in the center of the village.
