Kalida is a village in Putnam County, Ohio, USA. The population was 1,031 at the 2000 census.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 1,031 people, 385 households, and 284 families residing in the village. The population density was 355.4/km² (924.4/mi²). There were 397 housing units at an average density of 136.9/km² (356.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 99.13% White, 0.19% Native American, 0.48% from other races, and 0.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.78% of the population.
There were 385 households out of which 37.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.9% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.2% were non-families. 24.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.20.
In the village the population was spread out with 27.5% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 101.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.1 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $52,411, and the median income for a family was $59,861. Males had a median income of $37,750 versus $27,065 for females. The per capita income for the village was $21,293. About 3.3% of families and 4.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.1% of those under age 18 and 7.2% of those age 65 or over.

Kalida High School (KHS), part of Kalida Local School District, has a strong tradition of academic, athletic, and artistic success. In 2003 they were selected as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. They have also received the Ohio Department of Education Excellent rating the past 6 years. Kalida earned the highest scores on the Ohio Graduation Test out of Putnam County and all of the surrounding counties. All of these accomplishments represent their high academic standards.
The current superintendent is Mr. Mark Neal and the current principal is Mr. Don Horstman. The members of the school board are Brian Laudick, Rhonda Osterhage, Gary Stechschulte, Denny Turnwald, and Barry von der Embse.
