Kalavai is famous for the Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt. Two Shankracharyas of Kanchi Peetam attained their "Moksha" at this location. Other attractions in this town are the Angalamman Kovil. Some of the villages close to Kalavai are Nallur, Panathangal.
