The mission KALA-FM is to provide a broadcast quality learning lab for St. Ambrose University's Communication students and serve the Quad-City community with diverse music, news, and information.

Jazz, blues, world, urban contemporary, college rock, Hispanic, Latin jazz, black gospel; public service programming (syndicated and locally-produced); local, state, and national news. Occasional live music features, news, and live home/remote coverage of St. Ambrose University sports events.
