Nominated for best song in 2005 in India[citation needed], the song Kajra Re, which in English translation means kohl-lined eyes, was a big hit. Many Indians love this song for its melody and beat. It debuted in the movie Bunty Aur Babli, which premiered in 2005, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Rani Mukherji, with a special appearance by Aishwarya Rai.

The scene in which this song was included was when Amitabh and Abhishek were at the night club bar. Rai starts singing, and Amitabh and Abhishek join in the dance sequence. Alisha Chinai won the Filmfare Best Female Singer Award for 2005 for this song. The other singers of the song include Shankar Mahadevan and Javed Ali. This song made Rai famous for dancing with her future husband and future father-in-law.
