[edit] Deletions
I deleted the sentence "Dutch radio show Timur Open Radio on Yorin FM loves the band." during a copy-edit.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gths (talk • contribs).
[edit] Former name of Kaiser Chiefs
Is the author of the article sure that they were formerly known as Runston Parva (non-existent village) rather than Ruston Parva (village in East Yorkshire?) It would seem that there might have been a typo....—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.105.8.7 (talk • contribs).
...in fact they were named after Ruston Parva, they just remembered it incorrectly.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.105.8.7 (talk • contribs).
They came from a small village called menston in yorkshie, and some came from guiesley a small town a few miutes drive from menston. They attended st marys menston and some attended guisely fieldhead. And it is West Yorkshire not east Yorkshire!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.134.227.154 (talk • contribs).
[edit] Employment Selling Figures
in geocities top 100-albums of the year 2005 ive seen that "employment"just sold 1.8 mio copies, but here isaw a number about 2.8 mio-a bit too much i think. i wrote 1.8 mio instead of 2.8 mo copies—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 141.2.140.13 (talk • contribs).
[edit] Why does "The Pooh Sticks" forward here?
Does the 90's britpop retro band The Pooh Sticks have some connection to these yarbles?
Because "The Pooh Sticks" refers here. And there's no mention of 'em in the article.
What the hey, folks?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Taniwha (talk • contribs).
- The band formed in 1997. That is a little late for post punk. Evlekis 5 June 2006
[edit] Picture
The photo on this page is not a photo of the Kaiser Chiefs but of another band. Please change it! I can't because apparently it can't be changed!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 145.53.21.243 (talk • contribs).
- Not true. It is a terrible picture, and I'm not sure the whole band is in it or everyone in it is in the band, but it is related. However, a new picture is needed forthwith! U-Mos 20:03, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Indie rock?
I think the naming indie rock is inaccurate. The eighties-ish sound of Kaiser Chiefs is more like new wave, not indie. I suggest 'indie rock' to be changed to 'new wave'. The Dutch WP-article has this too. MrTroy 19:15, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm changing "indie rock" to "new wave". I've never read any review saying they're an indie rock band. There are lots of reviews, on the contrary, that refer to them as a new wave band. A few examples:
-> Rolling Stone's review of Employment
In the latter, Nick Hodgson says: "The Ramones wrote pop songs in a punk/new-wave style, which isn't too far away from what we're doing." --MrTroy 14:13, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New Album
The line where it mentions the new album should say what year the album is scheduled to drop.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.57.136.227 (talk • contribs).
[edit] Removed 'Encounters'
I reverted to remove the 'Encounters' section, which was some guy's (badly-written) account of meeting the band. Aside from the numerous spelling, grammar and punctuation errors, the whole section failed to adhere to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

[edit] 5th Quater
Just wondering why you removed this: The Kaiser Chiefs have recieved minor exposure in Australia. The Australian Rules football program The Fifth Quarter, which reviews AFL games played each Saturday, on Network Ten, has the Kaiser Chiefs song Na Na Na Na Naa as their theme song.
I had no idea about the band until I heard the song (on the program) and googled them.
[edit] Nationality?
They are british, so why does is their name the KAISER chiefs? A Kaiser is a german king. I came to this article looking for info on this but couldnt find anything. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.107.182.227 (talk) 03:56, 12 March 2007 (UTC).
"Kaiser Chiefs, a British indie/britpop band from Leeds, was named after the Kaizer Chiefs Football Club (In south Africa I believe) because Lucas Radebe, a former member of the Chiefs, captained the team they all supported, Leeds United A.F.C."
The Kaizer Chiefs Are a football team in south africa
[edit] Comparisons
Would it be correct to add a title on comparisons to other bands? Or possible influences? For example my friend and I believe they could be compared with the band Blur and possibly the Clash in their style. Ashfan83 22:18, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
