Kaifun (also transliterated Kafun) is a village in the Mount Lebanon Governorate, Aley District, in the Republic of Lebanon. It lies slightly south of the village of Suk El Gharb
It is majority Shia population. During the Israeli-Hezbollah 2006 War its population, swelled by refugees, went from about 3,00 to 50,000 over stretching its water supply and causing a humanitarian crisis.[1]
