Kaffibarinn

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kaffibarinn is a bar in the Icelandic capital, Reykjavík, partly owned by Damon Albarn of ‘Britpop’ band, Blur. It was much favoured by artists, philosophers and popular musicians in the early 21st century when alcohol, parkas and wireless Internet access were all the rage. Above the entrance in Bergstaðarstræti, the name is displayed on a roundel unmistakably based on those to be found on the London Underground (the ‘K’ and final ‘N’ being enlarged, as was often the case with signs in the early to mid 20th century).
