Talk:Kadosh Hakadashim

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page is misnamed, with vowels mixed up. - proper transliteration of the Hebrew phrase is "kodesh hakodhashim." It is properly transliterated phonetically in the pronunciation guide next to the Hebrew script, but the page name should be changed to reflect this.

This anon is correct. Also, the page should be merged to Holy of Holies - it's only ok to use a foreign name when an English name is not available. YechielMan 22:45, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
The English name is currently being used as a generic term for a sacred building in a religion, and so long as it is used for this purpose it is not available for an article on the particular location on the Temple Mount, which is merely a kind or example of a Holy of Holies. It would be like having to merge ones article on Julius Caesar into the general article Human being. Best, --Shirahadasha 02:23, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
