Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (Devnagari: कभी हाँ कभी ना English: Somtimes yes, somtimes no) is a 1993 Indian film directed by Kundan Shah. Shahrukh Khan plays the role named Sunil. The film also stars Juhi Chawla (in a guest appearance), Suchitra Krishnamurthy, Naseeruddin Shah and Deepak Tijori. The film was considered one of Shahrukh Khan's best performances. He received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance for his role.

The film is about Sunil (Shah Rukh Khan), a small town guy of Goa. He has only two passions - music and Anna (Suchitra Krishnamurthy), his lady love. While he is hated by his father (Anjan Srivastava) for his first passion, his second passion is impressed by Chris (Deepak Tijori) instead, another musician in their band. Fueled by their blossoming romance, Sunil tries to create misunderstandings between the two but the truth gets divulged finally. He sacrifices his love for Anna in the end so she and Chris can marry and become happy. Depressed, after leaving the couple, he meets a young, lost woman (Juhi Chawla). They are instantly attracted to each other and it is implied that he will finally find happiness with her.

  • The film stars Ashutosh Gowariker as one of the members of Sunil's(Shahrukh Khan) band. He later went on to direct the Oscar-Nominated Lagaan and the critically acclaimed Swades.
  • It is one of the rare mainstream Hindi movies in which the hero plays the role of a loser.
