Kabarudon (カバルドン Kabarudon?) is one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. Kabarudon is famous for being one of the Pokémon revealed before the Japanese release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The purpose of Kabarudon in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]
The Japanese name Kabarudon is a portmanteau of the Japanese word for hippopotamus (河馬 kaba?) and don, a word meaning tooth.

[edit] Biological characteristics
Kabarudon resembles a hippopotamus due to its large size, prominent mouth, and tusklike canine teeth. It has four short and yellow legs, with each foot covered by a "boot". It has a black shell on its back with several holes in it. The two bottommost holes have sand pouring out of them, indicative of its Sand Stream ability which causes a sandstorm when it enters battle. Its body, which is a yellowish color on the male, is gray on the female.
Kabarudon is the evolved form of Hippopotas.
[edit] In the video games
Kabarudon is one of many new Pokémon to make its first appearance upon the release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS.
Kabarudon is used by Kikuno, the second member of the Elite Four in Sinnoh.
Kabarudon can only be obtained by evolving Hippopotas at Level 34. It has impressive Attack and Defense, but shabby Special Attack and Special Defense.
