Map showing where Kabyle was spoken as of 1936. Linguistic boundaries based on André Basset, Atlas Linguistique des Parlers Berbères: Algérie - Territoires du Nord, Université d'Alger, Institut des Etudes Orientales 1936. Wilaya boundaries after Google Maps. While I have followed Basset as closely as possible, there is some chance of error in sparsely populated inland areas, where most of the placenames he lists refer to microscopic villages absent from any modern map.
Please note that this is a linguistic map, and as such does not purport to represent the boundaries of Kabylie, which has firm boundaries only if considered as a historical administrative region.
