Ka'b bin Zuhayr
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ka'b bin Zuhayr was the elder son of Zuhayr ibn Abî Sûlmâ, whose early work satirised Islam, but who subsequently converted and wrote the ode Baanat Su'aad which became known as Qasidat al-Burda as the Prophet is reputed to have given him his cloak (burda) after hearing it. This is not to be confused with the much later (and now more-recited) "Qasidat al-Burda" of al-Busiri.
