K V Gautam

K V Gautam is an Indian cartoonist. He drew cartoons on political events for monthly magazine Cartoon Watch, while still pursuing his graduation. A graduate in Economics, he began his career with the daily Dainik Jagran. He drew cartoons on political and social issues of the country. He also worked for newspapers like the Indian Nation, Hindustan, Aaj and Aryavarta.
Gautam has illustrated several books on sports, biographies, management, cinema and other subjects. He illustrated a series of biographies of celebrities like A P J Abdul Kalam, A B Vajpayee, Dhirubhai Ambani, Kapil Dev, Ratan Tata, NR Narayana Murthy, Sachin Tendulkar and Azim Premji, published by the Pentagon Paperbacks. In 2003, he illustrated the book “2003 World Cup Cricket: Action Replay 1983?” A coffee-table book “The Eternal Saga of Love: Devdas” was also illustrated by him. He drew caricatures of several travel trade personalities for The World of Travel & Tourism, a travel trade journal.
Born on December 15, 1979, K V Gautam was awarded with the First Prize in the Poster Contest on the theme of population control, organized by the Population Education Fund of the Government of Bihar in 1994. He was awarded with Certificate of Merit in the national contest of International Poster Contest – 1993 on the theme of Population and Our World, jointly organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT).
