[edit] To the rescue!

Hello, K d f m! What's the problem? Hersfold (talk|work) 00:35, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm getting notices saying that an image I've posted (Leng Tch'e cover for the page Leng Tch'e) will be deleted in a week unless I supply copyright information. I've tried to do this to the best of my knowledge, but nothing seems to be good enough. What does one normally do with an album cover that you don't own the rights to? I saw an administrator post an album image, and it was under the copyright category 'album cover'. This option did not seem to be available to me.

Thanks

Ok, I'll take a look at it.
Just so you know, there are a lot of different copyright templates that you have to add manually - most of them aren't available from the drop-down menu when you upload, only the most common ones. You can find all of the available templates here. I'm going to try to find the one you need now... one moment. Hersfold (talk|work) 00:59, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Seems to be {{Albumcover}} this one that I need. Let me know.

Oh! I see the change has already been made. Thanks a lot!

No problem! Glad I could help. While I'm here, I've placed a speedy deletion tag on the second version of the image you uploaded. There's no real need to have two of the same image, especially when you can't even pronounce the second one's name.
Let me know if you have any other questions! Hersfold (talk|work) 01:14, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:B000M2W3PG.01-A7X1R3N0UMHO1. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ .jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:B000M2W3PG.01-A7X1R3N0UMHO1. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ .jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Help me call #2

I'm getting things appearing like {{{name}}} and {{{type}}} on the Leng Tch'e page, and I'm trying to fix this in the source, but nothing's working.

Back again. Before we go on, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~) so it's easier to tell who's talking. Thanks!
Now then. It looks as though you're trying to use an infobox of some sort, but you aren't filling in all the required parameters, or information. Specifically, you need to add these lines within the infobox:
| Name = (name of the album)
| Type = (the type of album - see here for more details)
Once you add those lines, the triple bracket tags should disappear. Hersfold (talk|work) 01:32, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a lot! K d f m 01:40, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Leng_Tch'e.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Leng_Tch'e.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. -- SteinbDJ · talk · contributions 20:27, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I have the label at the bottom of my article, Filmworks VII: Cynical Hysterie Hour, saying that it is a 'stub'. I have extensively expanded it, but didn't want to delete the label, as this would probably be considered vandalism. How does one get rid of this 'stub' label when it's no longer appropriate? K d f m 08:43, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Nah, stub templates are hardly as important as, say, {{afd}} notices -- they're just there to give people some idea of where the very quick articles are, for easy expansion in the project. I've seen a few people disagree about where exactly we draw the line between "stub" and "not stub," but took a quick peek at the article you mentioned, and it seems well enough into the "not stub" category (and either way, it'd be a silly thing to get into an argument over). I usually say "anything I could expand with just a few minutes of Googling," and it looks like you're past that. :) Keep up the good work, and be bold!Luna Santin (talk) 09:11, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Professional reviews

Hi there. Could you explain why you're removing professional reviews from album templates? Do you know of a new WP:ALBUMS standard that I don't? Cheers, Ian Rose 01:44, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

I came here to ask the same thing, regarding the "Heroes" article. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 17:08, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

I find them tacky, unnecessary and, frankly, an eye sore. K d f m 02:54, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
