[edit] History

[edit] Kubrick

Kubrick (named after Stanley Kubrick, the film producer) was the precursor to K2. Also written in PHP for use with MySQL, Kubrick was developed by the same team behind K2.

Despite their collaboration, each of the K2 team has developed other templates for wordpress and other blogs.

[edit] Essence of K2

As the team describe themselves, it's Wordpress that controls everything behind the scenes, but K2 controls everything that the readers sees of the final website. Taking advantage of the latest Wordpress functionality, such as widgets, K2 is a powerful and sharp template structure. Via the Style functionality, K2 also allows the site owner with a degree of css or php knowledge to customise the look and feel as desired.

[edit] Features

  • Prepackaged use of various Wordpress widgets
  • 'Style' functionality for importing customised css
  • AJAX functionality, such as livesearch, livecommenting and rolling archives
  • Modular code for easy customising
  • Available for free download or for install via Wordpress hosting
