K-F-R ك ف ر is the triconsonantal root of many Arabic words, and many of those words are used as names.

- Kafir, pl. Kuffar — "coverer" — unbeliver; "a person who hides or covers the truth"
- Kafare — sentence for a crime, for example lashes for adultery, used in religious issues
- Mukaffir — the act which precipitates takfir.
