The finals of the K-1 World Grand Prix 2006 were held at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan on December 2, 2006. In the finals, the defending Grand Prix champion, Semmy Schilt, defeated K-1 veteran Peter Aerts to win his second world championship in K-1.

Aerts defeats Musashi by knockout in round one.

Schilt defeats Le Banner by unanimous decision.

Hoost defeats Arrab by unanimous decision.

Feitosa defeats Karaev by technical knockout in round one.
[edit] Quarter-final bout: Remy Bonjasky vs. Stefan Leko
Bonjasky defeats Leko by unanimous decision. After suffering a kick to the groin, Bonjasky was not able to recover in the time allowed. K-1 officials decided to postpone the bout until later in the evening, giving Bonjasky time to recompose. The bout was completed after the first superfight of the card (Sefo-Manhoef).

Sefo defeats Manhoef by knockout in round one. This bout also decided a second tournament reserve, in the event that the first reserve bout winner could not perform when called upon.

Schilt defeats Hoost by unanimous decision and progresses to the finals.

Aerts, who won the evening's first reserve match, progresses to the semi-finals due to an injury Bonjasky sustained in his quarter-final match. Aerts defeats Feitosa by knockout in round two and moves on to the tournament finals.
