[edit] Trivia

  • This would be the second WGP that Remy "the Flying Gentleman" Bonjasky has won.
  • Along with fellow Netherland countrymen Peter "Mr. K-1" Aerts and Ernesto "Mr. Perfect" Hoost, Bonjasky has won two WGPs in a row. As of 2006 no K-1 fighter has won three WGPs in a row.
  • The three fights Bonjasky won during this WGP would continue his seven fight win streak started in the 2003 WGP.
  • As of 2006, the WGP 2004 final match between Musashi and Remy Bonjasky is the only final to occur in two WGPs (and in this case in two consecutive WGPs).
