The K-1 World Grand Prix 1997 was a kickboxing tournament held by the K-1 organization in two parts, on September 07, 1997 and November 09, 1997. It was won by Ernesto Hoost.

- This would mark the first of four K-1 WGP wins by Ernesto "Mr. Perfect" Hoost. As of 2006 Hoost has won the most WGPs by any K-1 fighter in the history of K-1
- This would mark the second of five appearances of Hoost in the WGP final. As of 2006 Hoost has made the most appearances in the K-1 WGP finals than any other fighter
- As of 2006 Ernesto Hoost has won the most fights in any WGP Final (16 wins 5 losses)
- This is the second consecutive appearance by Andy Hug in the Finals of the WGP
