Kōhoku-ku (港北区?), located near the Yokohama metropolitan area, is one of the 18 wards of the city of Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Kokuku Ward has the largest population of Yokohama's 18 wards, and Kōhoku Ward ranks second only to Naka Ward in the total number of workplaces (1996 Workplace and Corporate Statistics Survey). The population is over 300,0001 and the area is 31.30 square km. The character for North (北) is part of the name to denote that the ward is one of the 4 northern wards of Yokohama.
