[edit] History

The JVF Clique emerged from the Midlands pirate radio scene in 1994. After stints on Mix FM in Leicestershire and then moving with Mix FM to Birmingham, JVF helped form the radio station Real FM in the West Midlands.

Mix FM began in Leicestershire in early 1992 after the closure of Hardcore FM. The Clique joined the station in 1994 to introduce some drum and bass to its already busy schedule of underground music. Mix FM presented a broad selection of underground DJs broadcasting to the Midlands most weekends on 106.3 FM. After broadcasting for most of the next three years, Mix FM relocated to Birmingham.

In 1999 the Clique assisted the founders of Mix FM in starting Real FM, which ran most weekends. Originally in Birmingham, Real moved to Coventry in 2001 and broadcast on 94.2 FM. Since Spring 2002 Real FM has been off the air but could still return.

The Clique has continually played club, exhibition and soundclash events throughout the UK including a stint at promoting their own events with Gambino Promotions. The JVF still specialise in drum and bass, but have also been working on numerous hip hop projects to display its members' more lyrical side.
