Justin Jackson

Justin Jackson (born December 11, 1988, Asheville, North Carolina) is a shortstop at TC Roberson High School. He is 6'2 1/2, 180lbs, and a 2007 Draft Prospect. As a sophomore at T. C. Roberson, Justin posted a .417 average with seven home runs, seven doubles, two triples, 16 RBIs, 37 runs and 10 stolen bases in 91 at-bats. As a junior Justin batted .506 with 12 home runs, four doubles, four triples, 33 RBIs, 21 walks and 20 stolen bases in 81 at-bats. [1]
As a senior in high school, he hit safely in six of eight games at the 2006 World Junior Championships. While leading the US to a silver medal, he tied for the team lead in hits. Justin’s father, Chuck, played for the Houston Astros from 1987-88 and played for the Texas Rangers in 1994. [2] His mother, Trina ran track as an amateur.
During the summer of 2006, Justin appeared at the Aflac All-America game. [3] Jackson participated for the East Team, alongside such standouts as Michael Main. He was one of six nominees for the third annual Aflac National High School Player of the Year Award, named after Jackie Robinson. The award is given to the country’s top prep baseball player. [4]
Justin was teammates with outfielder Cameron Maybin, a 2004 Aflac All-American who was drafted in the first round by the Detroit Tigers in 2005. [5] Like Maybin, Justin also plays for the Midland Redskins, a prominent and successful summer league program based in Ohio. [6] While playing for Midland's most experienced, competitive Redskins team in June 2005, Justin batted .282 with 10 stolen bases, four doubles and 17 RBIs in 110 at-bats. The team also included 2005 Aflac All-Americans Brett Anderson and Jared Mitchell.
