The Justice House of Prayer (JHOP) is a American Charismatic Christian (see charismatic movement) organization founded in the fall of 2005 and based in Washington, D.C.. JHOP's aim is to organize and develop a community devoted to continuous prayer and fasting (a "house of prayer") for what they believe to be God's righteous will and judgment in American politics--especially the end of legal abortion (see Roe v Wade). JHOP members are energized by what they believe to be inspired dreams indicating that their prayers will be answered soon.

In addition to abortion, JHOP also prays against the United States' permissive laws regarding homosexuality and, presumably, for initiatives such as the proposed Constitutional amendment defining marriage as a legal union between one man and one woman. They also offer prayers for divine guidance (only concerning homosexuality and abortion?) of government leaders and can occasionally be seen in the news as a group of college-age kids standing in front of the Supreme Court with the word "LIFE" scrawled on the red duct tape covering their mouths. They believe God instructed them to do so through a dream as a way of identifying with what they describe as "the silent screams of the unborn."

The organization is led by founder Lou Engle (featured in recent documentary, "Jesus Camp"), a man revered as a prophet and a leader in some charismatic Christian circles.[1] Engle is also involved in The Call (religion), essentially a 12-hour prayer-meeting usually devoted to concerns similar to those of the Justice House of Prayer and often with attendance in the tens of thousands (The first "Call" was, reportedly, a gathering of 400,000 on the national mall).
